Vehicle Description 1963 CUSTOM BUGATTI REPLICA This custom-built 1963 VW Beetle (Chassis:
5577830) uses a VW engine, suspension, and partial floor pans.
The car shows a believed accurate 3,500 miles since its build.
It was an attraction at a breakfast place for a number of years in California and now is in good running order.
Recent service included a rebuild and tune of the carburetor, refreshment of electrical wiring to make all lights work accordingly, new oil, oil filter, and fuel filter, and a fuel flush was performed along with refueling with 90 OCTANE NON ETHANOL.
The car carries a clean Florida title and is titled a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle.
The build is meant to emulate a prewar Bugatti.
Simply spun aluminum wheels are fitted, and the white paintwork with simple #73 livery appears to be in good shape.
The interior is basic and features a vinyl bench with seat belts and partial carpeting.
Instrumentation is quite complete for a kit car with a speedometer, tach, fuel gauge, oil temperature and pressure, and volt gauge.
There is no top, and passenger protection is limited to a pair of Brooklands-style screens.
The forward part of the car is a surprisingly large cargo area accessible under the center-hinged bonnet.
The engine is a 1675cc Volkswagen unit housed under the rear clamshell and retains its original 6-volt electrical system and a single carburetor.
This replica uses narrowed front torsion bar suspension.
